Calcium Drier
A calcium drier is an auxiliary paint additive that contains a calcium metal salt (often a carboxylate) dissolved in a solvent, used in oxidatively-cured paints like alkyd and oil paints. It is a through-film drier that, by itself, has poor drying action but works synergistically with primary driers (like cobalt) to accelerate the drying rate and improve film hardness and gloss.
